Media Relations

Arena platforms (two or more action angles) are available to the media during the three main performances and the preceding and integrated local and amateur events. The platforms are placed for safety, rigidity, excellent camera potential of the entire arena and the public. Additional areas of interest to the media will be the contestant ready area, VIP area, and stock and chute platforms providing action shots looking across and down into the bucking chutes with the arena and grandstands as the background.

Thursday November 13 is Media Night beginning at 5:00pm. Rodeo Staff, Contestants, Stock Contractors, Directors, City Officials, and political figures will be available for interviews, stills, and taping. Exhibitor load-in begins Thursday providing the community interest aspect including many local organizations, volunteers, and school groups setting up for the event.

Requests for media credentials should be submitted in writing on company letterhead and mailed to:

California Pro Rodeo Circuit
Attn: CFR Media Relations
28835 Capano Bay Court
Menifee, CA 92584

Credential requests should be submitted as early as possible. Priority is given to professionals working on assignment for specific media outlets approved by the CFR Public Relations Committee prior to the event; however, we will try to accommodate most credential requests. Media credentials for freelancers not on assignment will be considered after submitting samples of published work.

Working media must request a General Press Badge for assignments at the California Finals Rodeo. This badge permits access to the press deck and the cowboys' ready area located in the south side of the arena.

Journalists will be handled on a rotating basis in these areas in order to accommodate assignment needs. Please note that the press deck and ready area are reserved for working media only. No children are allowed.

Dress Requirements

PRCA clothing regulations state that all media personnel and photographers must wear a long-sleeved button-down or western shirt, long pants, and boots while present in the photo pit, arena and chute area, and in the cowboys' ready area. This regulation is mandatory with safety as the top priority. In addition, this event is highly photographed for both television and the print media; the clothing requirement also ensures the western flavor of the show. If the requirement presents a problem, contact one of the public relations committee representatives for help.
